Spending so much time at home lately makes me really appreciate my longstanding preference for a clean house. There’s nothing like walking into a room and seeing it in its most organized and inviting form…they say an uncluttered space facilitates uncluttered thinking, and I believe it.
That’s why I was on the edge of my seat reading this HuffPo piece spotlighting 24 items to keep your home totally spotless. For clean-lovers like myself, it’s some of the most engaging reading in a long time…we used to accomplish so much with tools as simple as a simple brush on a stick, imagine the possibilities with technology on your side! Most of them tickle my fancy in some way or other, but this mattress vacuum cleaner sparks a mixture of intrigue and anxiety…you know how you might think a place is totally pristine until you turn on a blacklight?

A Fresh Approach to Shopping
You don’t need me to tell you that things have been turned upside-down for over a year now, but there have been some silver linings to the constant cloud. The expansion of Amazon Fresh is one of those silver linings, since it’s hard to imagine it would have gotten quite as prevalent as it has otherwise.
With Amazon Fresh, we don’t end up buying a 24-pack of sharp cheddar cheese blocks like at Costco and we save on those impulse buys that always get you on the way out…placed conveniently at eye-level for easy grabbing, very sneaky. The lack of free samples is an occasional minus, but overall shopping at Amazon Fresh is a superior experience.

None for Me, Thanks
As you may know, cannabis is legal for all uses in the great state of California. I’ve never really been a fan, but I’m all for people enjoying their own lives. I suppose that includes a certain son of mine, who convinced me to try these new CBD candies to help me sleep…so I did.
They worked, quite well actually.
…and then I woke up with my brain scrambled, which is a horrifying sensation when you’re totally convinced that normal is not coming back.
I did not enjoy my time in Candyland at all, so even though it provides a lot of relief to a lot of people it absolutely positively is not for me. Wish I had watched this video first, since it probably would have resulted in a much less bumpy ride, but nonetheless Dad will be sticking with his melatonin mellow from here on out, thank you very much.
Everyone and their Mother
You know The Guy in your social circle with a pickup truck? Sure, everyone knows him…especially when it’s time to haul some exciting domestic upgrade home from the big box store. Being The Guy who knows computers beyond accessing the Control Panel is often similar…you can quickly become the designated person for helping with IT issues off the clock.
